  • Help a newbie

Let me first start of by saying that YES, I know this probably is a stuipid question.

Ok so I am in the process of building a computer for the first time, and I am trying to figure out which position to put the heatsink/fan. I bought a retail AMD 3500+, which includes a heatsink with it. My question with attaching it is whether it matters which side to attach the Spring Clip and the retention clip to. From the looks of it, it seems that it could be flipped around and be put into 2 different possible positions.

    This is how it looks

    (edge of Mobo)

    -------2---------

It seems that the spring clip (lever) could possibly be attached on either side, so i'm not sure which exact side to attach it too

Not only is it a stupid question but what does this have to do with Distributed Computing? (this should be under the Cooling forum).

Don't matter, I usualy put the spring clip facing upwards.

Try to post in the correct section next time.
