Re: Purepower 480 Watt Butterfly PSU

Those readings seem to be off by 1 volt. Ive had MBM5 do that sometimes, especially with CPU voltage. I made the exact same swap, and i can tell you im running a much more power-hungry system and my 12v rail doesnt go below 11.85 at any time. If your motherboard came with a monitoring program, use that instead (updating it is a good idea). Unless the power supply is faulty, of course, in which case RMA because it isnt worth risking your components.

Almost anywhere you look for readings you will get lower than +12V I believe that If it doesnt need it it doesnt use the full +12V, though I have never had a wonderful PSU in one of my own rigs so this post may be disregaurded if faulty.

        Thanks for the replies!!!

When i got home i checked my BIOS results -

        V CORE = 1.790 - 1.086
        +3.30V = 3.370 - 3.387
        +5.00V = 5.148 (CONSTANT)
        +12.00V = 12.000 - 11.935

I presume that everything is more or less in order with those results??

And my motherboard is a ASROCK K7V88 with AMD Athlon 3200+ Barton!
