Different Brands Memory in DDR

Quick simple question to the experts of TweakTown: I'm running an Anthlon XP @ 2.4ghz and have 2 stick of 512memory running DDR, however they are different brands. Will this cause a problem? -It seams my system restarts at odd times or CPU intensive processes. Just trying to rule it out, wondering if there is a way I can get the to work together, or test if it's even them.

The RAM should probably work, but not if you have them in dual channel. That could cause the problem.

However, I'd say heat looks like it's more likely to be the cause. What temperatures are you getting? Is it overclocked to 2.4GHz, or is it a 3200? What cooling are you using?
