WELL I PUT A NEW FAN ON THE x800xl and it still runs at a stalled temp of 45c. In BF2 it plays pritty well but still lags off and on. But Still i get crappy ratings so in 3dmark the first video u go into a warehouse and it has all these guys shooting each other in there i only get about 14 fps which does make any sense PLUS what does FPS Really mean idk card runs hot way to hot i put a zalman 80mm fan on it with heatsinks please help me.

I wouldn't call that "crappy," but at that resolution it should be higher. Let's start by seeing if you have too many background applications running.

Open up Task Manager (press ctrl + alt + delete). Look at the bottom and tell me how many processes are running and what the commit charge is.

hmmmmmm i got an amd athlon 64 3500+ 1 gig of 3200 ram, ati radeon x600xt 128mb pci-e, 250g HD. The only game i play is CS, and i get 100 fps in the resolution i play in (800x600). But i have 58 processes and a commit charge of 620/2459m(what does this mean?). Should i post a copy of hijack this? or should i leave it if all these processes arnt bugging me much? and would i be able to OC my comp? its an HP but most of the hardware is name brand, EG: MSI ram, abit mobo, celestica gold series video card. The only thing that worries me is my Hard drive, idk who makes it. any recommendations on what i should do? thanks in advance!

if u get rid of those charges they will be alot better just start a new thread post ur hijack stuff and wait for a response it helps alot. my computer was laggin a little in bf2 with all the stats up before but now it doesnt hack at all

AsianBatman
11-12-2005, 03:25 AM
It takes aLOT LESS to play CS than bf2...and you won't beable to oc your comp cause its a HP.

That means you're using about 600MB of memory, which is a lot. IT doesn't affect you as much because (as AsianBatman said), CS is a much older game and doesn't take much to run. Still, that's bad enough that I wouldn't be suprised if you had multiple viruses or spyware programs. It wouldn't definitely be in your best interest to do some cleaning.

I dont think i have any viruses, and i probably have very few adware/spyware. I will let you be the judge of that. I am very cautious on what goes on my comp. The reason I have all this stuff running is because most of it came pre-loaded with crappy HP's. I usually custom build my comp, but i went to bestbuy and checked out there local ad, and was in the market for an amd 64 bit comp, and i wouldnt have bought this unless i knew it was a good deal. I have a friend who worked at bestbuy, and he logged in as admin, and let me install some software checking out the comp specs. To my surprise, most of the parts were brand name, cept the HD. The core processor was good to (venice).
