Help me Setup Dual Monitor using my old laptop!

I have:

1) Desktop PC running XP Pro with ATI 9700PRO
its a digital setup thus it uses DVI setup and the standard VGA output is FREE

2) old 233 Mhz Laptop with a VGA output port running XP PRO

I want to use the laptop as a secondary monitor for my Desktop PC, how do i go around with this?

I came across program called MultiVista but its too slow for watching movies/games/.

So... you want the Laptop as the Master computer and the desktop as the slave? You said the laptop has a VGA out, but not a VGA-in, correct?
