Being new to P4's, this may be normal, but I doubt it....
Running a P4-1.8A on a BD7-RAID with a Thermaltake Volcano7+ with WinXP-Pro. When I try to run Nortons Systemworks Pro 2002 Speedisk, I find the temps jump up and down from the normal 42-45 degrees, to 55-65 degrees C. They seem to go up as fast as down and only for a few seconds do they appear to remain high, but stay up long enough to shut the machine down if I don't have the thermal protection in the bios set at 70 degrees.
I put a layer of Arctic Silver II on when I installed it, and for everything else, the machine never exceeds 50 degrees, well all except Prime.... gets to about 54-55 degrees, with an idel of about 39-40 degrees. Right now, system is at 27 degrees and cpu at 42 degrees.
Any ideas???
