Patriot xblk 1Gb oc question

hi
i have this mem patriot XBLK (2.0-2-2-5) 2.6v @ 200Mhz
didnt pass hot cpu tester pro at 220Mhz.
my question is... what should i raise 1st!? the vdim or the timings?

Anyway i raised the timings 1st... They are at 260Mhz and didnt needed more vdim till now...

dont raise voltage man,unless its running 250fsb+ and acting flaky.voltage is always a last resort.im at 1.36 cpu voltage at 2.75ghz and ram at 2.7volts.now i understand theres different voltages for diff pieces but try and stay close to stock.u would like your stuff for more then a year or so right?ehe...gl man

timings first\dividers\anything just get that cpu mhz up and keep the voltage\heat down

For one, it won't run 220MHz @ 2-2-2-x at any voltage, relax the timings to say 2-3-3-6. And #2, raising voltages will not significantly lower life spans. High temps do. Some people don't know what they are talking about and shouldn't offer those kinds of opinions. If/when you decide to go faster, you will need to raise voltages and it will not harm anything. I ram my AMD64 3700+ @ 1.6V for a year and it is still running perfect. Just be sure to have the proper cooling and keep it under 50C full load. As for the ram, the higher you go you will certainly need more Vdimm, but that is TCCD ram and it doesn't like anything over 3V. Bump it up slowly, say .05V at a time and test for stability. I would also recommend putting a fan over it. In general, all ram should be actively cooled in my opinion, just get a low speed quiet 80MM fan blowing on it.

well i think this mem doesnt like voltage.... I can put it at 285Mhz with 2.5-3-3-6
raising the voltage doesnt make it go any further....I didnt run memtest yet so.. dont know if this values are really stable or not....

I don't know about that specific module, but heat can become a major factor when you get into speeds nearing 300MHz. What kind of cooling do you have for the RAM.
