  • Old Socket 7 M-Boards

    :flames:
My Grandmother lives out of town so i only see her every 3 months. She has an old Cyrix 6x86MX-200 (the one that runs at 166mhz). Now I am damn sure that, that is a Socket 7 chip. I am not sure what brand motherboard is in it but i know it is pretty good. My question is, could i replace the Cyrix xhip with an AMD-K6 450 by just simply swapping them?

1st would be to find out the brand of motherboard as a lot of S7 motherboards would not operate CPU's over 300MHz also check if there are jumpers to set the FSB at 100MHz and multiplier to 4.5.
Also is the CPU your planning to use a K6-2 or K6-3 (including "Plus" versions)? :smokin:
