hey,

ok... one of my harddrives got an emergancy reformating... *dont ask*

and on it was my GTA:SA (which is awsome, i had almost completed it).... and now when i try 2 play it wont (because it is no longer on any harddrives, although it appears in the uninstall control panel place....

so i tried 2 uninstall, it wont because something is missing.... and i cant re-install because it still thinks the game is still on the computer!!!

i think that there is still some traces of the game left on my computer from before... perhaps in the regestry????

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

yup, its in the registry....
on the run command, type regedit and i think you want H_KEY LOCAL_MACHINE (cant remember) then software then look for stuff labeled rockstar games or GTA. remember you cant break owt unless you change a value or delete it. just have a good rummage n all of the headings and if youre sure its gta, then d/l it.

i did exactly as u said....
found a folder names rockstar with a sub-folder named GTA:SA
I deleted the whole thing (no other sub-folders wer ther)

then wen i tried to install it again... it did the same as last time....

i couldnt find anything else in the LOCAL_MACHINE/software that directly relates to GTA or rockstar.

anything else?

since you have rid the registry of and GTA entries, you can just go ahead and delete the GTA files on your drive.

Sorry I missunderstood your post. Did you do a full wipe, or just repair windows?

If you did a full reinstall I dont see how it could still be in "Add/Remove Programs."

erm...
you could try regcleaner, i dont know if its freeware or not. also there are some 3rd party uninstaller programs you could try, if you search on google.
heck, do a search on your hard drive for anything from "GTA" to "san andreas" to "rockstar" an see if anything coms up.

oh, yeah, and i sure hope you didnt delete registery entries for other games...
