Northbridge overheating?

I think my nothbridge is overheating, lately my comp has started to beep from my sprekers, not the mobo, through the speakers. at first I suspected the X-fi but it has to work, I have a fan blowing on ot and I set the sound quality to medium. I opened the comp to see what the problem was, I felt everything, the GPU was warm and the nothbridge was incredibly hot (at least the heatsink was.), everything else was barely warm. the southbridge dosent even have a heatsink! I have no Idea what is going on. Thanks everyone!

if the southbridge doesnt have one it probably doesnt need one unless you can feel that its hot, as for the north bridge i would buy a cooler for it whether its the problem or not, just to make sure that stays cool
