install w2k or winxp and you *should* have built in driver support for the raid controller, if not press f6 and use your driver disk, then it'll be able to create/format on the raid no probs...that is, if you have created the stripe array...

if you are using win98, it might be more difficult (personally never had experience with raid on 98)

This is the way I did it when I ran Win98 (I run XP now).
Consult your motherboard manual on how to set up the type of RAID you want.
After you have done that, reboot with a Win98 boot disc, highlight CD-ROM support and press enter.
It will stop at the A: prompt.
After the A: prompt type Fdisk.
Then it will setup your partition or you can setup several partitions.
After it is done it will reboot and go through the boot disc again ending up at the A: prompt. After the A: prompt type in Format C: (don’t forget the space between the t and C).
When it is done, put the Win98 CD in your CD-ROM and press enter to reboot.
Again it will go through the Boot disc and stop at the A: prompt.
After the A: prompt type in D: (hopefully that is your CD-ROM).
After the D: prompt type in setup.
Win98 should begin to load.
I am reciting this from memory so I hope it’s correct… and it helps you out.
Good luck!
