Hmmm, what does everyone think about this? Maybe this was what everyone has been talking about, something to spice up the industry indeed.

DirectX 9 compliant? When's DirectX 9 due for release? :?:

Is this really a legit thing? I know it's in development and stuff, but there's been fake spec sheets floating around for a while not...

It's been beta testing for about 6 months now, so I'd imagine soon.

I still think it's a crock.. :) if it were genuine, then there would be some mention of it on the Matrox site. Especially if the release date is 14th May... I can't seem to find anything.

EDIT: Ok, I was wrong. :) Just found out that the NDA was supposed to lift on the 14th May, but some stupid people decided to release their info early. *cough stupid Russians cough*..

The thing about matrox has always been top -quality 2D images, but 3D performance has always been lacking. If matrox ever releases a card which can deliver good 3D performance [I don't mean it has to be equivalent to a GF4 Ti, GF3 speed will do for me] with their usual exceptional 2D quality I'll buy it..

I still have a 4MB PCI matrox millenium here in one box.

Does this mean Matrox could be the new Video card mKing? - I doubt it

but if it gives nVidia and ATi a little push that's always a good thing

I like the Antialiasing method... it makes sense
No occlusion culling though - could be a problem if the design is carried forward into future products
