Windows XP Homenetworking - sharing

I have just set up XP home network on 2 PCS running XP. All seemed OK but am having problems sharing printers and files. Each pc (client and host) have own printer on USB and will print locally but not LAN. Sharing files and folders. I want to share all folders and files in My documents on Host but for some reason only 8 out of 15 (word/excel data) are shown on the client. I have racked my brain and it is driving me mad. Can any one shed light on what I am doing wrong please?
