  • P35C-DS3R Q6600 BIOS F10 unable to overclock.

I am trying to overclock a Q6600 to 3 GHz using a P35C-DS3R. I have the F10 BIOS. CPU host control ENABLED Multiplier X9 CPU host frequency 333 CIA2 DISABLED Performance enhancement STANDARD System memory multiplier AUTO DRAM timing select AUTO System voltage control AUTO CPUZ reports I am running at 1600 MHz! My Computer says I am running at 2.4 GHz. I have attached a screenshot of my CPUZ results. Am I missing something really obvious? Please advise! Jeremy

Try running a program that stresses the cpu and see if the clock in cpu-z jumps up, by default EIST (speedstep) is on, and will throttle your multiplier down when not much is going on.

I am running Prime95's torture test and it now shows a core speed of 2400 MHz.

      It is still not overclocking!

If you are using Vista it can't decipher and display the correct speed. Use CPUZ to check the actual speed. If you have 9x333 you are running at 3g. I am running 8x400 and Vista shows 2.4g, but CPUZ and Everest is correct at 3.2g.
