  • Nanya or Crosair

    Hello all,

I am in the market for DDR 2700 memory.
    After checking prices at GameDude,
    I can get 3 Nanya 256MDDR for 375
    which is 768M in total.

And there's the next option which is
    512meg CORSAIR XMS2700 DDR333 eXtreme Memory Speed
    for 389.

However, if I buy three sticks now, then I won't be able to
upgrade in future unless I get rid of any of the three.

    So? Any suggestions?
By the way, there's also the option of Kinmax and Kingston.
And where can I get Cruicial in Brisbane?

    Thanks!

Nanya is more of a "budget" option, but I've had no problems whatsoever with their memory. Nanya was founded from the ground up as a DDR solutions provider, so they don't have SDR and RDRAM bogging them down.

Corsair is beautiful memory, overclocks extremely well, but priced to match. I have personally had several bad experiences with Kingmax memory, I have found it to be overly aggressive in its speed rating, and about 15% of sticks that have passed though my hands have failed. Saying that, many forum members here seem to have had good luck with it, so I'm a bit  over this.

Kingston is good memory, as is Crucial - but I have only found that sold via their online store :(
What came first - Insanity or Society?

If you've got the extra money, Corsair is the way to go....hands down

I've got a stick of Corsair 256MB XMS2400 and a stick of Corsair 256MB XMS3000 in my computer right now and as you can see from my overclock below (with aggressive memory timings), these beautiful sticks of RAM can definitely perform!
