Hi. I'm looking for a really quiet psu. I decided on a few and one of them is "THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER QFAN 500 WATT PFC-14 CM FAN PSU W0151" Some say it's noisy some say it's not!? What do you say? What is the max. loudness (dB) of this psu from 1 meter? Is it under 20dB? What about its fan, is it a variable or constant speed fan? Thanks in advance for your help.

I bought a Corsair PSU 520W CMPSU-520HX ATX12V, it's almost silent, efficient, and very well built. Definitely recommended.

I've had two Antec TruePower Quattro PS's which are still quiet and very efficient after a year plus and they tend to be less expensive than some in the same power ranges. You may wish to look at them as well.

Yeah for sure: How about a Thermaltake QFAN 850 W? I've got one and I'm not even sure it's on... But my PC powers up so I can only guess that it's working!!! It's dead quiet and comes with a whole host of cables in a proper 'Thermaltake Bag' I must say I was very impressed with the presentation, the box, the bag, the cables included, and the PSU itself looks lovely. I give it a 10/10 I was very happy opening that box and the thing seems to work really well, pumping out some very stable voltages. Need I say more?

I have a Thermaltake QFan 650W, it's really silent, can't hear anything from it unless i get really close! It's really very quiet, and has 8pin PCI-E plus 2 PCI-E 6pin, i recommend, very affordable one.
