  • windows xp and 98 networked

I've installed a new nic in 3 different machines, two running windows 98 and on running XP. I can see the 98 machines fine from the xp machine but I can't see any of the other computers from the 98 machines. I've got all 3 in a workgroup called WORKGROUP but still no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Mark

Firstly, how are these computers setup. I know the XP machine is probably using TCP/IP, I assume the others have it installed and setup correctly. You know, same subnet mask. Same range of IP addresses? If so, can you ping the other machines from these 98 boxes?

Also, you do have File and Printer Sharing installed on the 98 machines? If you don't, just install it and all should be good. And obviously you have Client for MS Networks installed, otherwise you wouldn't have been able to tell them what workgroup.
