  • SETI@HOME TweakTown Team

Hi all I have recently gotten back into SETI@Home After years off. I cant even remember my old account, but I discovered that TweakTown has a team so I joined it I think. TweakTown SETI@home I think is the current team. But im not sure. Why with a forum of computer nerds that have way tuff computers is the score so low? Im here to revive the TweakTown Seti@home movement.

        Re: SETI@HOME TweakTown Team

Awesome. Yeah Ive been running SETI non stop 24/7 on my laptop at work its only crap but it gets the job done. My power bill is high enough at home as it is so I dont run it at home, much. I dont think I have even run it on my sig system. I should give it a go just see how fast it is?

Yup thats me lol. I run it on 2-cores for the better part of 12 hours a day, with a GTS 250 helping out when the computer isnt in use. It will go down once I move back to my apartment, from my dorm, and have to pay for utilities.

Hehehe. I know that pain well. I actually converted my garage into a computer room and put it on it's own power circuit and air conditioning unit, just because there was no way to keep it cool in here during the notorious Texas summer time heat.

Oh well, I have to say though I didnt get a bunch of computers and do overclocking and what not to save power. lol. Its like Winter here now, Just the last 2 weeks have been really getting cold. Its suppost to be 0 Degrees C overnight tonight here which is way cold for the outback here. When Summer its 40+. I should crank all my computers up and get em all singing with SETI @ HOME to keep the place warm. Its got to be cheaper & Quieter than Running the Slit System? Lol

You have a new team member. 10+ years of (on/off) SETI@Home usage across about 4-5 different systems. Both systems in my sig run BOINC, albeit not all the time. Having some issues with BOINC and my hardware atm, so probably not much credit will be added for a while.
