  • My ADSL

    I've got the ADSL connection but the only thing that works is the http and ICQ(only on port 13).
    I tested my ADSL in a friend computer and everything worked fine... anyone have a clue of what can be????????
    Help me please !!!!! :cry:

    Am I alone?
    Some specifications:GreatSpeed Modem, PPPoe connection,Win98,ADSL,Network card
    Connection:Phone line->modem->PC

            From your diagram, it looks like you have an external modem. If this is indeed the case, make sure you set it as far away from the computer as the cord will allow. If your puter is on a desk set the modem on the floor. Don't ever set it on you monitor. Electromagnetic fields will screw with the modem in a bad way.

            Also make sure the setting in your "network properties" and "dialup settings" are exactly the way the modem instructions specify.

              First thanx for helpin...
              Yes the modem is external, but it is properly positioned.
              About the last topics I think that they are the right stuff, but I don't have the manual cuz it's a rent modem from the telephone company and I don't wnat to call the support, because of particular reasons...

                    What OS is it? Are you trying to share the connection? A mate of mine's connection (cable) got screwed when he installed WinXP and the built in firewall started itself up.
