    I'd blame the ram first then the motherboard. I find it hard to believe the CPU would die suddenly like that, they almost never die unless they are murdered by an overclocker.

      Yeah Agreed. RAM, then MB, but dont forget about PSU. Start Pulling stuff of the Board that you dont use. IE try with 1 stick of ram, no HDD and stuff like that. Also If you have a different Video card cant hurt to try. Reset the existing one if not. Check all power connections.

        yup I'd also blame the ram, I had the exact same thing happen to my system with a Q6600..

        new ram and I was ready to go..
