  • GA-EX58-UD3R Rev 1.0 vs. Rev 1.6

    Hello.

I recently purchased the GA-EX58-UD3R and I found that it is Rev 1.0 of the motherboard.

However, I just noticed on the Gigabyte website that there is a recently released Rev 1.6 version of this motherboard (no versions in between 1.0 and 1.6).

I am curious as to what the differences are between these two revisions. Are there any major bug fixes or performance enhancements? Did I just buy the original gimped version of this motherboard? I've read that there is or had been LAN issues on this board, does rev 1.6 fix those?

    Thanks!

    Any word on this?

Are there any GigaByte representatives who can answer this?

    Thanks.

I would be interested in that answer as well.

Thanks smash! That's useful information. I wonder if those are the only two changes.

I don't think the slightly higher speed memory support effects me, since I don't anticipate using memory at those speeds.

As for the Bios going from 8MB to 16MB, I wonder what implications that has? What good does an extra 8MB in Bios size do? Will there be more features available for tweaking and monitoring on the Rev 1.6 Bios?
