• Analog to CD-R

What's the best way to get an analog signal onto a CD-R. (DivX / Mpeg)

What's the maximum time amount that can be put on a CD-R.

I am trying to use CD-R as a cheap, long lasting, easy acces data recording device. I tend to get lost in my VHS tapes. I tape a lot short recordings, so the option to skip is very usefull.

The image quality has to be good enough to be displayed on a television.

First of all, the best way to get a video signal from an analog source to a PC is through either a ViVo capable video card or through another device which has the capability... Check out this thread for some ideas / suggestions you might consider..

The rest of the questions all depend on what you do. Once you get the video onto your PC, you can convert it to any type of video you want. The whole quality thing depends on how good looking / sounding you make your videos. Also, quality is directly related to file size too, so all you gotta do is experiment a little and see what you like the best...

The connection isn't the problem. I need some software to get the job done. I have a Geforce DDR 32 MB with video in, or whatever is it called.

I just don't know how to record the video signal?
