lol...well I think Macs are for Really Simple Minded People that cant handle the Advanced ways of computing...but......I want to start Editing films with my friend and Final Cut Pro 3 is like the #1 Editing Proggie out there but its only for a mac...and i was thinking...maybe one day ill just buy the case with all the parts in it...cause i have 3 monitors laying around over here...if not...ill just use Adobe Premier 6...but i would need to get a Dual AMD System for Optimal use...also...if i need a GF4 for a Mac...i already have one...well...let me stop...what games are there for MAC..that are not on PC...fine so ill get a GF4MX for the mac if i get one...thanks wiggo also...take care

I want to start Editing films with my friend and Final Cut Pro 3 is like the #1 Editing Proggie Yea? Says who.

Consider this: If it was any good, it would be ported to a PC. No company is so stupid to limit their user base to such a small sliver of the population especially IF THEY HAVE THE GREATEST PRODUCT avaliable. Capitalism simply doesn't work that way.

Adobe Premier Rocks.

Strange though how most big Advertising, Editoring and Film houses use Mac's and not Wintel's. I wonder why? :?:

I'm pretty neutral on the entire Mac vs. PC war.

However, a good show to watch if you have an interest in both macs and pcs is the screen savers on tech tv (www.thescreensavers.com).

If Apple wasn't there in the late 70's early 80's what would the PC now be like? :?:

Simple. Cast yourself back to 1993. The only platform with anything remotely efficient in your line of work is a Mac. you buy a room ful of macs. People get used to macs, and refuse to change. Apple keeps is one and only niche in the business.

=========

Still you can't argue that if a piece of software is the BEST THERE IS, the manufacturer knowingly will NOT port his product to the PC market, rejecting a potential billion dollar market for no reason?

Like I said, Capitalism doesn't work that way, and the truth as to why he doesn't port his program to a PC, is BECAUSE,

#1: his product isn't THE BEST THERE IS by a significant margin
and
#2: the PC market is perfectly happy using Adobe Premier, because it is damn near as good, if not alot better. (IE: a PC version of his product would not sell enough copies to warrant it being PORTED)

well xerox had the first gui os and machine in like '78 but it cost too much for the mainstream to buy so ther you go what would the orld be like i the machine took a foothold in the market

Just one quick thing.. if you are only going to be editing video on the Mac, why don't you just use the standard video card? If you get a brand new PowerMac you still get a GF2MX at least.. If not a GF3. (I think)
