Best Buy stands are kinda on the expensive side i don't know if you are willing to spend 50 bucks or more on stands. You can get walla brackets works fine...those speaker shouldn't weigh too much.

I make my own speaker stands, but then again, i am a woodworker with access to my dad's hobby woodworking shop.

yeah and if you did it with just 2x4s that might look a little cheezy but yeah speak brackets would be cool they would keep everything out of the wayy you could put them on the ceiling that would be cool

Yea, if you have the right tools and the time and patients to do such a job you can make some really nice stands...nice thick ones with a shiny clear glaze...kinda like a piano's ebony finish. SWITE!: peace2:

FLaCo

Flaco Or a road trip to Wisconsin. A matching stand for the computer with a vent hole in it so that I can add another case fan would be nice too.

 FLACO I go to Miami all the time for my wife's immigation hearings. If I get as many case fans installed as I want, you could probably hear them running from your place.

FLaCo

I think i hear 'em now...from your place:D ...Thats alot of fans dude! You should call your Whirlwind..hehe

drpeterbright

:shoot: FLACO If the sound is up high enough, I barely notice the fans - or the jets in the landing pattern at RSW or the DC-3 Mosquito Control planes overhead or the sound of the vase crashing against my head etc. When I installed my latest fan, my wife looked all over the place to see where that sound was coming from. The filter helps to disguise its location.

Just inherited a pair of raggedy stands from one of my brothers. They are made out of some kind of wood but need some clean up. I don't know what he did to make them smell the way that they do, and I don't want to know. I'll strip the stain off them & see what I end up with.

Well I'm kinda' curious:?:

I could edit my list of Top 10 Things Not To Do With Speakerstands

You just had to ask. So I gave the bro a call. He said you don't want to know. I pressed him for an answer. Seems it had something to do with a p...ing contest. Yuk. I/m glad I hosed them down (Ha -with a real hose) before I brought them inside. Have stripped them & the wood looks halfway decent.

I'm reasonably sure that was on my list, thanks for checking though:laugh:

It should be for sure. Hard to believe I'm related to him or any of my brothers. None use computers!

Well, I finally finished staining the "tainted" rear speaker stands & they look great with nary a smell. Only problem now is having the speakers vibrate off the suckers.

Velcro. ;)

Wiggo, mine have little feet with a hole (so you can mount them on the wall) and I was considering a screw but didn't want to drill any holes in the stands. Will give the velcro a try as I have some on hand & see how it does. Thanks.

I hang my surround speakers from the ceiling. I have false ceilings in my appt., so it was easy. I acutally used some cat5e to hang them. the three strands are connected to a strip of wood, painted white to match my ceiling that just slides under the frame for my ceiling tiles.
