Which printer?

Can I get some thoughts on a good colour printer around the $200-300 (Australian) mark. Domestic use only for printing good quality photos.

I've had a HP5L for about five years and its been perfect for b&w documents. I just want to be able to print photos and I've heard a lot about the high cost of print cartridges.

The Canon S300 is a good one that I recommend and can be found for around $220aus. Not much ya can do about the cost of refills here though unless ya refill them yourself. ;)

:) The Canon "S" series printers have high quality output, decent speed & use less ink than the HP's. :cheers:

Thanks for that. You've confirmed the feeling I had from looking at ads, with only their own claims to go by.
