with this thing out, is Intel keeping the same price tag on the 975? it seems like if your going to drop $1000 then this is the one to buy. -

Let's resurrect this a bit. This is what this 8 year old platform can do for daily usage. Very much comparable to the midrange modern CPUs.
COmpared with the past pre-2008 it almost seems like the progress has stopped. ;)
X5650 @ 4GHZ (can go higher) | DDR3-2200 10-10-10-26 1T | NB 3.7Ghz
