I'm trying to get more SATA II ports by using the PCIe x1 on a Gigabyte EP43-UD3L MOBO. Just wondering if any members have knowledge/experience w/ using the Supermicro AOC-Saslp-MV8 8-Port SAS SATA PCIE x4 Card and breakout cable? How successful were you? I'm not interested in its soft raid function, just more SATA port for hard drive addition. Any help or experiences greatly appreciated.

Are you having problems, or just looking for others experiences using this? Just wondering, not many people likely use this so you may not get any replies.
So I though I'd check and see if you were having issues or not just to be sure, and if you were maybe I could help but it would be guesswork on part because I have not used either. -

I'm looking for advice, insight and or help (dependent upon members) pertaining to the Supermicro AOC-Saslp-MV8 8-Port SAS SATA PCIE x4 Card and breakout cable? I already know this controller card PCI-X version will work, albeit @ reduce speed in the PCI slot, but does not have any working experience w/ the PCI-E x4 version. How reliable is the card? Any driver issue using this on Win 7 or Vista? Objective is to add more ports, could careless for soft raid. Thnks.Comment
