ASROCK 945GCM-1 1.21 beta bios:
http://rapidshare.com/files/432800135/ISO_945GCMS_121.rar
The .txt has instructions of what you need to do.
The .iso is NOT empty, it just appears that way, even after burned you can't see the files under windows, you have to use it as a boot disc and then follow the .txt instructions.

Thanks to the ASROCK Europe team for the .iso

It would be nice to have detailed installation procedures for all us Newbs, I got a new HDD ready to start a fresh installation for the X58 extreme 3, due to BSOD issues. Is this where I use instant flash? from usb I just dowmloaded file onto, and do I do it first or after windows installation?

I'd copy the latest bios file to the usb drive. When turning on the machine enter setup and then navigate to the asrock instant flash menu. If I were you I'd update the bios before installing windows, but that's just my opinion. After you update the bios make sure you load setup defaults and then tweak whatever you need to. Then go ahead and proceed to installing Windows. If I need to be more specific about anything let me know.

Asrock, please make possible to disable Intel Turbo Boost on H67M-ITX/HT. It is listed under OC Tweaker but stays only Enabled cannot change. This would very useful to keep temperature under control inside tiny ITX cases. Thx for great mobo!

For DDR3-2400,you need to adjust cpu voltage and cpu_nb voltage. EXP 1.4v for cpu voltage and 1.25v for cpu_nb voltage.

How about a bios for supporting Gskill F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL @ 1866 on an ASRock 970 Extreme4. I can get them to run in either slots A2,B2 or A1,B1 with 8gb @1866 but not all 16gb at once @1866. I can however get it to run all 16gb @1600 with no modifications whatsoever other then clicking on 1600 in UEFI. When I click on 1866 in UEFI and try to run all 16gb it wont even post:( All the sticks are good as per memtest individually and all together. Consulted GSkill and tried everything they have recommended to no avail.

Please help me,

970 chipset + Thuban/Deneb -> it will not work as easy as you think because the IMC is not that strong..

If You are running BD, You should have got an 990X/990FX chipset board.

ASRock 990FX Extreme4 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
<tbody>
http://images10.newegg.com/WebResource/Themes/2005/Nest/none.gifRating: 5/5HPC gone wild

Pros: - Superior price/performance for HPC applications

- AM3+ Bulldozer support: FX-8150 showing mind-alterting multithreading performance in HPC applications (media encoding; image processing), blowing away dual-slot Dell Xeon E5620 workstation by >30%

- USB 3.0 support: getting >100MB/sec transfer speed with external WD scorpio in NextStar3 enclosure

- Overclocking: FX-8150 overlocked to 4.5Ghz stable without voltage increase!
Cons: - BIOS below version 1.30 does not natively recoginze the FX series processors. Had to install a AM3 compatible chip to upgrade BIOS to version 1.30

- BIOS does not recognize my G.Skill DDR3 1866 memory at 1866, only 1600. Will not post if memory is set to 1866.
Other Thoughts: No issues at all with this board. With the FX-8150 it's outperforming most workstation class boards on the market with the FX-8150. Can't be beat for price to performance.

Perhaps he should have spent $200 the ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Professional AM3+ AMD 990FX will be your response to that problem as well? Is this an ASRock help forum or not? If not please give me direction else where or a point in the right direction would suffice.
Thank you

Hi everyone.

Do you know if latest 1.60 BIOS for 890FX Deluxe4 contains all the fixes from the 1.51 and 1.55C?

Can I assume so for future updates? (if latest Official version > latest Beta Version then all the fixes from the beta are in official).

Thanks!

I have ASRock a770DE+ will this board support the new AMD Bulldozer???

Can anyone from Asrock let us know if they are working on a Bulldozer updates for other boards?

Or what is the latest model of AMD hex core that will work with the latest bios of 1.70???

Valnjes
11-26-2011, 11:32 AM
No, it will never be AM3+ because it is not AM3.

BD has only DDR3 IMC, no DDR2 IMC included like DDR2.

This MBO will always stay AM2+.

They need to support current products correctly, first.

I'm still waiting for a bios fix for stuttering in unreal engine games on the 990FX Pro. They're unplayable. I asked tech support for a beta bios and didn't even get response (weeks ago).
It's a solid board, but useless with those games. I wonder if Asus ever fixed their boards? This is ridiculous.

I guess that's two more manuf. that I won't buy from again.

Yes, I know that, But I mean on changelog for ALL beta BIOS since official 1.90. So, from 1.91 to 3.02, complete changelog in all beta BIOS, not only for version 3.03.

I am most interested what about very fast DDR3 RAM, for example DDR3 2133 or DDR3 2400 ? I need native support for more memory speeds, like DDR3 1866, DDR3 2000, DDR3 2133, DDR3 2200 and DDR3 2400.

Can you guys, from AsRock, please, add support for these speeds on native level ? If you want, you may make that BIOS only for me and send me a download link in my private message folder.

What about system stability on Windows 7 x64, with Athlon X3 445 ? I don't have, yet, FX processor.

Why AsRock don't publish final version ?

Valnjes

It will come in a few days.

You cant set the RAM beyond 1600MHz without the FX.
(You can with FSB clocking)

How it performs on FX 8150 processor ? And what about high speed DDR3 2000 or faster RAM ?

They need to support current products correctly, first.

I'm still waiting for a bios fix for stuttering in unreal engine games on the 990FX Pro. They're unplayable. I asked tech support for a beta bios and didn't even get response (weeks ago).
It's a solid board, but useless with those games. I wonder if Asus ever fixed their boards? This is ridiculous.

I guess that's two more manuf. that I won't buy from again.

Good luck on getting any sort of reply from Asrock support (on the the 990FX at least). I've tried multiple times over the last few weeks and no response here either. In my case it seems that it doesn't recognize HD7970 cards (other cards are fine!). Must say it's pretty disastrous customer service.

I don't have an FX8150, just FX4100, and it works pretty good (stable with no problems).

I have only RAM modules of 1866MHz, they can be clocked to 2000MHz stable with 1.85V (G.Skill).

Beta Bios v2.03 for the Asrock Z68 Extreme4 has broken the Extreme Tuning Utility v0.171.
The Extreme Tuning Utility does not run now.
Can this be fixed please?

Also, a suggestion....

The "Any key" boot up option needs to be changed to ALT TAB or ALT ESC.

Can faster DDR3 profiles will be added to the next beta bios for the ASRock Z68 Extreme4 gen3 mobo.

Yeah, I have a problem with the 2.20 BIOS (it appears to be similar to the one I downloaded for my Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 based on feature support added): Installing it pseudo-bricked my mobo (with an i5-2500K). I can boot into repair mode, but I can't repair anything. I can do system restore, but it doesn't effect anything beneficially. Attempting to boot into full Windows 7 64- Ultimate causes a blue screen and system reset in under 2 seconds (SSD boot drive). I am going to try downgrading back to 2.10 later this evening when I have time. I would actually like to locate the original shipping bios and try to restore that, as well, if 2.1 doesn't go well, but I haven't located it on the ASRock site yet.

update:
Dropping back to 2.10 fixed my boot problems. I will probably wait to go back to 2.2 until after I have an IB CPU already installed.

No quad cores supported for that board, if you can even find one. A used one on eBay, new ones for socket 775 not made for a few years now.

Your board is six years old, that's ancient in PC years. No clue what else you have, but you may be starting from scratch.

I am using that beta bios right now and updating it was easy...

Since this was my first attempt to give UEFI/Windows 8 a chance I *finally* got the hang of it and could successfully install a uefi windows 8. Thank you google... ;) I have now reverted back to Windows 7 (non-uefi) but am considering switching due to the ultra fast boot option... but its almost too fast if u ask me... if you screw up u have to clear cmos.. duh... :hmph:

I give the beta bios and Asrock thumbs up for the new certified Windows 8 logo bios!
Just waiting for the final version now!

You can upgrade just like any other bios update and ignore the win8/uefi also so no worries there.

Fine, but BE CAREFUL!! We already have one ASR X79 board owner that flashed to the IVB-E compatible BIOS, while still using their SB-E, and reporting issues. We saw the same thing with the BIOS updates for IVB CPUs, on SB chipset boards (P67, Z68, etc.), when the user was still using their SB CPU. The INF and IME updates needed along with the BIOS update may cure things, but I've seen these problems to many times to feel safe about these "transition" BIOS updates.

I seem to be lucky, I didn't even update the drivers and had no problems, I have back dated my bios just for testing and went back to the newest. I have thrown in unmatched memory and still run quad, have thrown in all kinds of memory not on the list and never had a problem.

I noticed you posted somewhere about memory and how now it's important to be on the list.

Which is almost impossible, most times the memory is outdated and not for sale, then there is no memory over 4gb, most everyone is running 8, 16, 32, and not one in the list, so how does anyone get it when there is nothing listed.

So you've applied the IVB-E CPU support BIOS/UEFI version to your ASRock X79 board, and all is well? No problem with multipliers or any OC?

If not, great, and interesting too, the key may be not updating the drivers, really just IME or actually apparently the IME firmware version. The IME firmware is a basic part of the SB to IVB CPU BIOS update, according to Intel. The question is where is the firmware update done, as part of the BIOS update process, or in the IME software update?

About the memory, I always tell users to use memory from the QVL/Compatible list. Or I should say, I say that to people that are surprised that the randomly selected memory they have did not work. This and other forums are filled with memory compatibility problems with new mother boards. Those people are looking for a definite answer about what memory works. If I don't use the board they have, what else can I tell them?

Yes the list is very limited and incomplete, but it is safe to recommend using the list. Many users with this issue complain about needing to buy new memory, they can't afford it. That also means they don't have any other memory to even try using.

You and I have boxes of PC parts we can try in our PCs, but not everyone is like us. I have memory that is said to work with CPU X and chipset Y by the manufacture, but did not work in that case. I've also used mismatched sets of the same model that work fine. I have mixed memory models in DDR2 memory boards that worked fine. I've never been able to do that with DDR3. The only "generic" DDR3 memory I've found is the Samsung MV-3V4G3D/US, which is very hard to find anymore.

So you just toss any DDR3 DIMMs in a mother board and they work? Come on... :smilies13

I threw in DDR1 and it worked:tongue02:

I actually know that we don't update a BIOS unless we have the problem that the newer BIOS fixes, or updates rom's or CPU, so when there is problems, I know it's my fault for updating.

I installed the newest BETA, L2.01 and then ran the OC utility. All was fine, had CPU upto 4.1, ran passmark and returned 10240. Without OC it's around 9400.

Then after a few boots, I had to boot and she started to turn off boot, this would do it about 5 times then boot ok.

I turned off the utility and she still did it during a cold boot. So I re-flashed the 2.01 and all was ok.

There's a bug OC the sandy on the Ivy BIOS, but I don't OC, just did it to see. They will need to work out some bugs, or note not to use newer on the sandy.

She is booting fine, I just installed the newest 8.1 9471, just kidding, I would never install a OS that was Micro confidential. :nono:

I built a few systems, and had the chance to try some Gskill, Geil, Corsair, the only problem was corsair, but I swapped the ram around and she booted just fine.

I always tell people stick to the QVL also, but when they don't have anything for 8,16,32, I just say I'll pick one close to the model/brand in a higher size then what's on the list.

Best Bios for the X79 Extreme9 is L3.43a (http://ul.to/igh9eoqr)

Compared with 3.61

Enhanced Halt State (C1E), now works with the E5-SBEP(3.61) , doesen´t work with 3.43a.

PCIe 3.0, doesent´t work with 690GTX and user-created bios, Blackscreen after the first boot, fixed in 3.43a.
OC-Profil, Good OC possibilities in 3.43a.

So i think 3.60 and newer are based on 3.30 ;(

Trying to get asrock to remove the "support line 2 that say's support RST 12.7", I assume this is why people are updating a BIOS that is only for supporting IVY, and Ivy isn't out , so not sure why anyone would update when they don't have it besides the listing of RST.

Or put in a note not to for people who don't realize you don't install a BIOS for a Ivy when you have sandy.

Until some bug's are worked out and the newest can run both with no problems.

Oh yes thats right, and another problem is that ASRock has deleted all other bioses and so the user has no alternative for Sandy Bridge-E/EP CPUs, at this time and in the next time ;).

So you can confirm the SB CPU OC issue with the new IVB-E compatible BIOS. That's the point of that guy's post. Fortunately that is the "only" issue with this new BIOS... hopefully. Intel reported a similar issue with their own 6-series chipset boards (Z68) so yet again here.

I know, was just off kilter, just don't think someone should blame asrock when the update is mainly for Ivy, not sandy. Must be going though mind life crisis.

But this does fall along the lines of someone buying a board that's only SLI and goes with crossfire after only to find it doesn't, then blaming the MFG.

Someone clearing CMOS to update then locks up because the manual states not to clear before or after, just an example.

The basis point is people do things, buy things, don't read or pay attention they fluff off their own responsibly.

On a note, I don't think asrock should have put out the update until sept, or deleted the sandy bios, placed in a note not to use Ivy on a sandy, but then what MFG explains things.

I must agree with you about some users that just blindly apply the latest BIOS, firmware, or alpha/beta drivers that are available. New is not always equal to better, there are many examples of that with IRST drivers, for example.

It's also true that some users do not study the updates closely enough, or at all. Mobo manufactures must know this, so really need to add multiple, clear warnings about these updates, particularly in the case of these CPU compatibility changes. That would save everyone, including themselves, a lot of grief, trouble, and frustration. Why they don't add these warnings is such a mystery to me.

It also is apparently SO important from a marketing standpoint to be the first to do something, such as have the IVB-E compatible BIOS available. That doesn't impress me at all.

Thank you stasio for the info and links, but I don't have much use for the "Special default single core booting bios" personally. It also looks like a Windows BIOS update program... which I don't like.

I tried to register on XtremeSystems, but it is closed apparently now.

I wanted to reply to a Nick Shih comment about no new BIOS updates for some ASRock Z87 boards, because there are no "huge bugs" to improve.

Really, what about the BCLK "straps", or BCLK/PCI-E Ratio as it is called in my board's UEFI. The 100 (standard), 125, and 167 options. If I try the 125 setting, and adjust CPU multiplier and memory speed down accordingly, to even near stock CPU and memory speeds, the PC will not boot. I can run my i5-4670K at 4.4GHz fine with BCLK of 100 and CPU multi of 44 otherwise.

Does anyone have any success using the BCLK straps on their Z87 board?

Hello i have Asrock Z77 Pro 3 Board with 1.8 bios version, intel i5 3570k cpu [email protected],5Ghz at almost default voltage(like +0,040 offset and its super stable), Asus GTX780 and Noctua NH-D14 cooler so temps are fine,Corsair GS700 PSU. And for some reason my Corsair Vengance 2x4GB LP @XMP1600 works only in B1+B2 DDR slots(single channel) and when i put them properlly in A1+B1/A2+B2 slots PC won´t boot at all and all i got is 4 beeps, getting them randomly even in those working slot combinations A1+A2/B1+B2 sometimes. Ive tried reset cmos, reseat rams and cps/gpu and nothing seems to work around this.Everything works perfectlly fine like this(awesome FPS in games and all stable with great temps), but the fact its not running in dual channel buggs me...thats why iam here to ask about this new BETA bios for z77 pro3 boards. The description at ASRock > Z77 Pro3 (http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?cat=Download&os=Beta&Model=Z77%20Pro3) says that this version improves DRAM compatibility do you guys here think it would solve my issue and the mobo would detect my rams in proper dual channel setup ? I dont wanna mess up the bios update(i know its super easy and ive done it before but still :) ) especially if it wont help when done anyways. I also dont want to RMA my borad if possible cause it takes so much time in Czech and i cant be without PC that long again(already had to rma board+psu+ram cause of PSU failure few months ago and got all parts back changed for brand new so its not PSU/RAMs causing the problem)ps: if this is too much offtopic let me know ill make new thread specificaly with my problem and delete this...sorry :p

ok, so ive installed the beta version 2.1a and nothing have changed with my problem...rams still work only in B1+B2 as single channel else pc wont boot at all and i get only 4 long beeps. it seems like my rams aint fully supported by the mobo as there is only 2GB version of my ram listed in the compatibility list of z77 pro3 mobo on web or i have faulty A1+A2 ram slots which means i have to start saving for new mobo and RMA this one later :(

Is there an Beta Bios for Mainboard 880g Extreme3 (AM3+). I use AMD FX-6100. This cpu is supported for this board. Certainly, the System freezes if the cpu is full loaded.

It seems to be the steam bug.

A bunch (17) of UEFI/BIOS updates for ASRock boards on 12/31/13, and some more (9) on 12/27/13. A good mix of AMD and Intel boards.

Also four ASRock server board BIOS updates on 12/24 - 12/26. ASRock has been busy lately, but why so many at the end of the year?

Really same link as Stasio's above: Download Files form ASRock Inc. > Latest BIOS Update (http://www.asrock.com/support/download.asp?cat=BIOS)

Without the full model number of the memory, there is nothing to talk about, we don't know what we are dealing with.

When I try to upgrade my BIOS to 1.33 (currently 1.30) through A-Tuning Software, the software downloads the BIOS, restarts the computer atumatically, goes into BIOS, updates and says everything went successfully. Then it tells me to press Enter to reboot. It then tries to boot to Windows like 3 times and at the 4th try, it seems to reload the latest stable BIOS and it boots to Windows.. then I open A-Tuning again and it says its still on 1.30 and that there is an update available to 1.33.

Have tried this two times, no luck.

Any clues? is this normal? Kinda lost here.

Goto Instant Flash - it should list your BIOS on the USB stick. Select it and let it update the BIOS. Reboot , load defaults, reboot. Should have new BIOS installed , should say BIOS version in BIOS Main Page.

I see two beta BIOS files for my ASRock Z97 Extreme6. One lists "Improve SATA Express performance" and the other "Improve OC and performance".
Well, I'm having trouble with my Extreme6 not booting if I have an MSI Radeon R9 280 (non-x) board in any of the PCI-e slots. Have posted another thread about that problem, where it details how we've eliminated the graphics card itself as the problem; the motherboard works fine with other NVidia cards, I've tried a different high-quality power supply, etc. (I will be checking R9 280 BIOS and seeing if there's a possible newer VBIOS, but it's a real pain to set it up in my current environment, and I won't get to it until next week)

So is there any chance that there are any fixes in either of these two BIOS files that might fix some sort of graphics card incompatibility?

thanks.

Please release Beta BIOS for Z97 Extreme6/ac equivalent to the 2.01 for Extreme6.

Thank you!

Can't you just flash the version for the Extreme6 non ac? As far as I can tell, they're the same boards, with an extra peripheral on the ac version. If it goes horribly wrong, that's why you have the backup bios.

Yeah, that is what I hoped, but alas, there is a verification check in the flash tool and it refuses to flash the non-ac version. Maybe I made a mistake buying the /ac version since I don't really need it. Newegg had it for the same price as the non-ac, after rebate, so I thought "what the heck, might as well get free WiFi" but I didn't realize it would mean I wouldn't get updates as frequently :angryfire

Hello
a few days ago I bought Extreme9 Z97 and i5-5675C, ive loaded the latest bios 1.70 and not everything is working properly I can not run ATuning, the message

Access violation at adress 00586DCE in module `ATuning.exe`. Read of address 00000020.
and the processor is running at 100% until not close a program in which I can do nothing
keyboard with trackball which in UEFI operating correctly under Windows does not work, any functions of tracball roll the mouse buttons, but can not write
I can not assign more memory to IrisPro, if I do the operating system hangs, I can select "auto"
Win8.1 Pro 64 clear images downloaded from M$, INF version 10.0.27, Intel Management Engine version 10.0.39.1003, VGA win64_153624 IrisPro
I have a second mathebord Z97E-ITX/ac too ASRock and it is exactly the same (UEFI 1.80) as I had previously ITX Haswell and everything functioned properly after the founding of Broadwell is the same problem as on Extreme9
nothing connected only SSD with OS,
he wrote to ASRock but got only answer I downloaded the drivers from Intel and they have 100 matherboards, but to me it does not look like a problem with the drivers only with bios, with older versions is the same, the problem is the Broadwell
Please help
edit
Keyboard solved the problem, there can be connected through a hub, but it's strange because the notebook with Brazos and on an older computer everything was properly
ive loaded INF latest version: 10.1.1.8 and ME 11.0.0.1158 and still can not run ATuning, I get the same message and the program's nothing I can do

I have flashed older BIOS when it's stated not to, and all was ok but some people have problems.

What you should do is contact support and tell them what the problems are, what your OS is and maybe they will make you a new BIOS with the problems fixed, or give you one step down for a BIOS, but remember, I'm not telling you it's ok to flash older because you might have problems.

Is there a ASRock Z97 Extreme9 Beta?

I experience power-losses on high-load with dual-SLI while having OS on the M.2_1.

Actually I RMAed the PSU for a review, but i really dont think its faulty.

How does the PCIe-switches magic infront of the PEX8747 works?
While the 4790K only has 16 lanes, how can the the PEX be hooked 16x Gen3 and the M.2 be hooked 4x Gen3 the SAME TIME?

Can the power losses occur because of an UEFI-address violation triyng to map more than 16 lanes to the CPU for GPUs and M.2 or the GPU-subsystem halts because it cannot address all the 16 lanes the UEFI is reporting to be addressable?

Can you please provide a BETA-UEFI/BIOS with an option for me to tweak the PCIe-SLots for my SLI natively down to 8x Gen3? That way I would have the PEX with 8x for the SLI, the M.2 has 4x and 4x be free, avoiding confictls with the PCIe-switch dynamically switching them. to achieve 16x Gen3 what is OP...8x Gen3 would still be very fast for SLI.

At least i could check if this would NOT power-down unexpectedly during game-data-beeing read, while GPUs are at very high load..... or if it's the same issue.

This issue is open on the ASRock-forum, as well as on the GeForce-forum.

Ideas appreciated.

Next step on track when PSU re-arrives without them finding an error is to return the motherboard to the reseller.

BIOS is a kind of mini operating system. It's the first thing of code that runs on a pc after powering up. It initializes all hardware, making it all work together. But, it can handle hardware only, if it's known. That's why there are bios updates, to make new hardware being recognized. After all that, the real OS (Windows, Linux, etc.) is loaded by the bios.
