Remote control issues in Windows media center

When using the remote control for Windows Media Center, in windows 7, I don't know how to get back to the Desktop or a browser without turning WMC off. If I for example is playing music through WMC I don't want to turn it off so I can get back to the desktop. What can I do?

Sorry, you may need to use mouse to click the "Minimize" bottum in the top right side.
