  • eSata connection not working with M3A780GXH/128M motherboard

for some reason my external eSata drive will not work with the M3A780GXH/128M motherboard. However, this same drive does work with my Dell Studio X25 8100.

What happens with the M3A780GXH/128M motherboard is the drive flashes blue then red, then blue then red, over and over and never connects.

Thanks for any help with this.

P.S. I am using the latest drivers posted for this board for usage in Windows 7 x64

Did you connect a SATA cable from one of the internal ports in the bottom right hand corner to the port just behind the external IO ports?

Also if you want hot plug support the board must be in AHCI or RAID mode.

I didn't know that was necessary to use an internal cable? That is shoddy workmenship if you ask me.

And yes, I have it in ACHI mode.

Oh, and thanks for your reply. :)
