  • Help, overclocking my p2.26

Can anyone pleas give me some advice on overclocking my p4 2.26?

    Sys components are as follows...

    ASUS P4T533 w/raid
    (2) samsung rimm4200 256mb 32 bit
Gainward 750 golden sample w/128 mb
    (2) WD 80 mb ata133 hard drives using stripe raid
    Soundblaster Audigy gamer
    Enermax 550w power supply
    Yamaha CRW-F1 CDRW

    and im running Windows ME

also for some reason my processor comes up as a 2.22 ghz on PCMark2002 and my memory comes up as 800mhz but I got the processor boxed so i know its a 2.26 and i also checked the rimms and they are 4200 so im a little confused there.

    any help would be apreciated

Well if the switches on the motherboard are set to jumper free mode just go into the Advanced Menu in the BIOS and increase the CPU External Frequency (FSB) and maybe the CPU Vcore as well for stability if required. Your motherboard manual will help you with this. ;)

Any particular reasons you are running ME with that setup?

        drpeterbright,

I have XP but I haven't tried using it yet because I've heard alot of ppl complain about the bugs it had. But if you think I could get alot of performance boost from it I'll install it. I'm taking it you were refering to ME vs. XP.

        Wiggo,

Ty for the info, I am getting a Prometeia October 1'st or so, I have one on pre-order. I was just wondering how to overclock so when I get it I'll be ready, I'm also planning on putting water cooling in for all the other components since the Prometeia only cools the pentium.:D

rudedoggiedog XP is the way to go. ME should have been stillborn. I have found the stability to be excellent.
