  • I need step by step directions for OCing M3A780GXH/128M Bios rev 1.40

I have an AMD Quad core @ 3.4ghz and 140 Watts with a M3A780GXH/128M mobo and bios revision 1.40. When I use the easy setup to oc it to 3.5x ghz, Windows 7 shows it as still running at 3.4ghz. (64 bit version) Please give me step by step instructions on ocing this mobo? Thank you.

    P.S. I am using GSkill DDR3 PC13333 4x2GB sticks of RAM

Wow, I guess nobody has been able to OC this mobo using the 1.4 BIOS and the 140 watt AMD X4 3.4GHZ CPU. Some of the settings that has to do with the CPU cause the system to fail to post, so I am forced to reset the bios. And some of those features would be cool if they worked.

      Dear Moshe,

      Below is our test configuration,
      Motherboard: M3A780GXH/128M
      CPU: Phenom Ⅱx4 965
      RAM: G.Skill DDR3 1333 2Gx4
      OS: Windows 7
      BIOS: P1.40

We adjust CPU frequency to 3500MHz under BIOS, and we can see processor speed is running at 3500MHz under Windows 7 and BIOS.
Please kindly refer to the picture.

Please kindly refer to below steps to adjust CPU frequency for testing on your side.
      1. Press F2 into BIOS Setup when you boot your system.
      2. Adjust Multiplier/ Voltage change to [ Manual ] and CPU Frequency Multiplizier to [ x17.5 3500MHz ]. (BIOS/ Advanced/ CPU Configuration)
      3. Press F10 to save your changes and exit BIOS Setup.
      4. Then you can make sure CPU frequency is runnung at 3500MHz under BIOS and OS.

      Best Wishes
      Sean

Will give it a try. BTW, I don't see any pictures in your post?

Got it to work, but that still doesn't answer my original question about all of the settings.

Here is a picture of the settings in question. Which ones should I change, and what to, and which should I leave on default setting?
