ASROCK 939 S56-M Athlon 64 doesnt recognize new HD Samsung HD321KJ Sata II

Hi,
old HD Samsung SP2504C Sata died
store put in new HD Samsung HD321KJ Sata II

motherboard ASROCK 939 S56-M Athlon 64
but BIOS release 1.30 doesnt recognize it.

things i tried:

- searched the forums but e.g. sspeed.iso had no effect,
- jumper is set in 3rd position (1.5),
- no second HD in place
- checked cables to be in place

HELP!
