Hello all,
Can anyone tell me whether a PCIe x8 RAID controller card (this one - Newegg.com - areca ARC-1220 PCI-Express x8 SATA II Controller Card) will work with my motherboard? I'm a bit confused as to how the whole PCIe vs. PCIe 2.0 senario works (even after reading the article from Wikipedia), so any help would be most welcome.
At present I have one PCIe 2.0 x16 open, plus another 2.0 x4, and 2 PCIe 2.0 x1's. Based on what I've read so far, it seems the x16 is my best (only?) option, but I don't know whether it's graphics only. Also, the 2.0 x4 lists in the manual as x16, so maybe it's only x4 when the other two x16's are populated?
Hope someone understands this better than I do...
