Hi primius, this is my SS with Gigabyte GTX460 OC 1G , well max oc actually 870/1000 tested furmark passed 5-10minutes but vgpu too high 1.087v.

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

        Re: Gtx 460 hawk sli

Did u add vgpu when overclocking gigabyte card? is it 825mhz max oc with max vgpu? i find my card can overclock with no added vgpu at 810/1000 beyond that clock must increase vgpu ... but myfriend has same card like mine can hit max oc at 900mhz, i guess he got gold chip :)
Wow running SLI with oc'ed hawk ... i cannot imagine their performance ^_^ must be really high :)

Yeap 580 is really monster Primus :) not mention its price ... if u want to SLI i suggest wait for GTX560 or GTX570 :) mmm my friend use single HAWK and overclocked to 950mhz when playing metro "with 1600x1050 res all setting are max" fps are nice 30.... or abit less than 30 sorry forgot ^^. Whats difference between Talon and hawk? i dont know Primus ... d u know?

              Re: Gtx 460 hawk sli

Well, the military class parts are even better in the Talon Attac edition. Mainly the tipe of memory is a low latency type with a 3900Mhz 0.4ns modules. It comes overclocked from factory to 810Mhz, but being honest, we dont care about that do we? the main gain is the memmory, and Im not pretty sure if this Talon edition or the Gigabyte SOC (GTX 460) is the best option anyways... I love Benchmarks you may notice, since when playing, there is actually little to non diference between the models

                Re: Gtx 460 hawk sli

Yup youre right many of my friend in CHIP indonesian forum said that "in gaming there is very little or non diference performance ..." but benchmarking is another thing, numbers are really counts different :) btw my friend just bought HAWK and TALON then he tested without added vgpu hawk can hit 880mhz gpu clock and talon can hit 850mhz gpu clock .... really nice card, i should upgrade to that ^^. Btw DA gtx470 price is really low now, mmm really tempting me.

                            Re: Gtx 460 hawk sli

                            From Psych101's forum signature:
                            2 x Gigabyte GTX 460 1024MB in SLI (Pre OC'd to 715MHz core and 1800MHz VRAM) @ 875 Core / 4000 Mem. 200MHz Overclock from Ref. Speeds!
I've had the MSI N460GTX Hawk (1GB) in my win2k system for two days using the 259.22 drivers from the MSI CD. These were the only drivers that would install in my w2k system.
I'll be installing Win7 x64 in a few days when my new SSD boot drive arives.

I'm new to video card overclocking, and my Hwak is stable with stock voltages running Furmark and Kombustor for 5 minutes with 880MHz GPU and 2000MHz memory settings. With a +100mv GPU increase, it looks like it's stable at 920MHz and memory at 2000 - 2100MHz. My Antec TP-750 New psu has 4 separate 12 volt rails.

Your TX750 single 12 volt rail should be fine with an SLI setup. Just to be sure, see if your can borrow a similar psu to test with. It's possible that there might be a problem with one or more of the four psu video cables. Have you tested each of your cards in single mode to verify that each card can overclock to a reasonably high level?

I don't do gaming, but I wanted to upgrade my 7600GT, as I couldn't run demanding gaming demos or benchmarks. I exceeded my upgrade budget by $10, as Newegg had a great price on my Hawk card, $160 after mail in rebate and free shipping. , I'm pretty sure that the extra $20 cost of the Hawk compared to the average $140 cost for a 460 reference card is money well spent.

My first Heaven 2.1 benchmark at stock 780/1800 settings averaged 57 fps. So far, so good.
Right now, the Hawk price is $200 (with shipping, after MIR) and the Talon price is $215 (with free shipping).
At this time of year, prices seem to change up or down every day or so.

Hai wazza & prof jim :)
here my SS at stock speed hawk :

                              Uploaded with ImageShack.us

This benchmark is really focus on gpu's performance, processor doesnt help much like in vantage or 3DMark2006 ... myfriend use intel xeon quadcore from 4.2ghz to 4.4ghz only add 20points wow ... and i also test from 4ghz Q9550 FSB 471 to 4.25ghz FSB 500 only add 15points oh my ..... HD6870 default speed has 4500point! faster than hawk but gtx470 at default speed more faster than HD6870 and hawk, 4600point.
Prof jim, hawk is really cool right? :) i like this card it has 2 heatpipes 6mm and 2 heatpipes 8mm so total hawk has 6 heatpipes 6mm!! that's why its so cool like ice ^_^ my setting are : 875 core and 2100 memory without adding voltages stable in furmark, gaming and artifact scanning by ATItool... i found artifact scanning is really good, before this i tried 880/2200 and 875/2200 both had passed furmark almost 20minutes but sometimes i played game after 30minutes-1 hour it crashed, but windows still working so i click ALT+TAB and close icon gaming.... so i ran ATItool for artifact scanning and yes after 5minutes there were lots artifact detected .... so i lower down my setting to 875/2100 the result is 20minutes scanning artifact with no errors detected :) and gaming never freeze now.
