drpeterbright

Perhaps you are stonger than you have led us to believe young lady.

A strong woman needs to be independent of men.

drpeterbright
09-07-2002, 04:27 AM
Independent includes financial independence.

meijuan
09-07-2002, 04:53 AM
Brilliance has flashed again. Do you practice what you preach?

drpeterbright
09-07-2002, 06:44 AM
I absolutely do. I only associate with strong women. Wimps need not apply.

pdv

meijuan
09-07-2002, 08:24 AM

drpeterbright
09-07-2002, 09:49 AM

A strong female knows how to put a man in his place.... for example what makes a weak female.... is one that relies on a male for everything. I have learned over the years.... when you rely on a male it only adds heartbreak and only makes you weaker. The most important thing in life to do is find yourself.... when in fact most of everyone is always looking for that perfect mate..... when in fact they never found themselfs.

Wiggo's-sister
09-08-2002, 06:46 PM

DaoWay
09-10-2002, 10:45 PM

Oprah Winfrey, I think she'd have some good stories to tell. Besides I think in herself she a pretty level headed women.

TrickPonY
09-15-2002, 06:47 PM
Nope... Oprah Winfrey may appear to be a strong woman on her talk show.... but her life is a rollercoaster of weakness.... with her battle between her weight and her relationship and other stuff.

A strong woman in my mind is Jackie Collins.... she writes some of the best books I have ever read!!

A strong man in my mind is none other then Bigest Sexest Man.... big sexy Kevin Nash... Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy!!

Wiggo's-sister
09-15-2002, 07:03 PM

Trick, what type of ADSL do you have? 384, 512, 784? And did you notice much of a ping difference while playing games compared to cable?

TrickPonY
09-25-2002, 04:14 AM
I think its 512, im not really sure. The ping time is sooooooooooo much better then cable. I play Soldier of Fortune alot before on cable my pings would jump from 165 to some outragious numbers. With ADSL my pings are between 75 and 125

the other day I put it to the test. I was on the mirc... I had 4 uploads going and 7 downloads going..... this computer was humping it butt off. With cable I was lucky if I could do 2 uploads and 1 download.

pga1234
09-25-2002, 04:20 AM
Cool, I can get 784k ADSL for $50 a month. I guess I will get that :).

TrickPonY
09-25-2002, 04:23 AM
I pay 59.99 for mine. Its the next step up from the regular price of 39.99

pga1234
09-25-2002, 04:26 AM
I can get the 1.5mbps version for $69.99 :).

StormyWeather
09-25-2002, 04:30 AM
Im not sure but that might be the one I have. I know there are 3 versons of ADSL with sprint.

pga1234
09-25-2002, 04:33 AM
Maybe, if it's 1.5 you are getting a great deal.... What's your average d/l speed?

StormyWeather
09-25-2002, 04:57 AM
the other day when I had all the downloads going the fastest was going at 28 something or another..... the slowest going 18

pga1234
09-25-2002, 05:00 AM
Sounds like that is most likely 512k that's what beefy has and he said his goes higher than that (but with that many d/l's...)

StormyWeather
09-25-2002, 05:12 AM
All I know is they say cable is faster then ADSL but personally adsl is 100% faster and better.

pga1234
09-25-2002, 05:16 AM
Cable dl's much faster but it is prone to slow downs during peak hours where as ADSL doesnt slow down too much...

StormyWeather
09-25-2002, 05:18 AM
it didnt matter when i was downloading it always seemed to be slow. Another thing with cable is it devides your speeds between uploads and downloads. It just always seemed to be cap'd at 13 and that really pissed me off.... when they promissed 27+

pga1234

13kbps???? My brother get's around 130kbps...

Wiggo's-sister
09-26-2002, 01:28 AM
*grrrr........* d/l here is very slow on dial-up, it takes me a good half an hour sometimes just to get 3,000kb's.

When l D/L IE update fron 5 to 5.5..... 4.3/4 hrs

Wiggo's-sister
09-26-2002, 01:53 AM
It gets very frustrating sometimes. My trouble with that would be I d/c after 4 hours. :angryfire

pdv
09-26-2002, 02:20 AM
Sometimes l do, DAP works for me, & its free,j ust have to put up with a little yellow thing blinking all the time in the tray
oze are worse than Hel$tra, if u usei s high with oze 4 hrs and dicsonect
That should not worry a Strong Woman :)

Wiggo's-sister
09-26-2002, 02:23 AM
I use DAP too. But sometimes I don't have the option of progressing on a particular d/l when I reconnect. Other than that, I haven't really had any problems with Ozemail. I never disconnect b4 the 4 hour time limit is up.

pdv
09-26-2002, 02:45 AM
Ozemail l have an a/c 1 1/2**2 years use to get more than 4hrs when l only use low hrs, when hrs increase 4.01 & d/c, not complaining as that is the deal, the 650mb d/l better than some

StormyWeather
09-26-2002, 05:47 PM
This is what I love about ADSL.... I never get boooooooooooooted!
When I had AOL... I had to pull da boot outta my butt all the time!! Use to drive me crazy! I start a download and head to bed... when i get up the download is already done and I either watch the movie I downloaded which today was The banger Sisters.... it was ok but coulda been alittle better!!

I just have to ask this. How is it that one of the most frequent posters in the "Strong Woman Thread"(yourself), chooses a moniker that derives its identity from the name of a man? This is pure curiosity.

Perhaps my thinking is a little different. Even if I were to attain notariety in some venue, I would admonish my "real life" wife and daughter not to assume identities such as Jack's Wife, or Jack's Daughter. I would insist that they establish their own, independent identities.

It wasn't a big deal at all. I simply felt it was incongruous and offered my opinion.

And on a different note, I have always felt that jockey shorts were like a cheap hotel - no ball room!
