With my configuration I am wondering if I should set the Marvel 9128 to AHCI instead of the Standard IDE default?
The board doesn't support IDE so I don't understand the default anyway.

    Hi Chuck,
IDE mode doesn't necessarily mean that you are using an IDE drive as like you mentioned this board does not have an IDE slot. IDE mode and AHCI mode are just 2 different modes that specify the options and advanced features that the controller will allow the drive to utilize. IDE is older and AHCI is newer. AHCI also has advanced drive management features so I would recommend using AHCI :)
Also, please check our support website, ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-, as there is a new BIOS revision that was released 2 days ago for the P6X58D-E which improves overall system stability and memory compatibility. Cheers!
