under drive xpert when I plug the drive into port 0 6g it sees it then I shut off the computer and put it in port 1 6g it sees it under drive xpert in the bios, but if I try to boot the computer out of port 0 the top port it goes threw post and the other stuff then all I get is a black screen and a blinking curser at the top left of the screen. When I shut it down and put the drive in the lower port 1 6g then the computer boots up normally.

Probably a bios bug,I had similar problem on my ud5,same blinking cursor but with boot menu screen

you can flash back to a working bios for now and wait till the next BIOS release

I have both asus p6x58d-e and gigabyte ud5,I use bios 402 for the asus and runs fine

WD1002FAEX-00Z3A0 both drives no jumpers used.

I reloaded the old bios 108 and still I can not boot from that 6.0 port.

What port are you trying to boot from? Port 6? Have you enabled sata3 in bios?

port 0 it is one of the 6g ones. port 1 works with no prob. and yes it is enabled in the bios.

Seems strange one port works and the other doesn't,think you might have a faulty SATA port? You could try loading optimized defaults and re enter your BIOS settings
