Sorry to have started 2 theads on the same subject but im not sure if this is a RAM setting or mobo setting

I have a Gigabyte P45-DS3 mobo and recently have had to exchange my Corsair XMS2 1066 RAM for some Kingston HyperX 1066 RAM (KHX8500D2K2/4G) runnig a total of 8GB

My mobo pics up the RAM running 800Mhz with the timings of 5-5-5-18 But when I try to set it at 1066 5-5-5-15 i get a double boot. So I pump up the volts to 2.30 like it says on the stick and as windows is loading i get a blue screen.

This RAM can run at 1066. Kingstons discription on it:

DESCRIPTION:Kingston's KHX8500D2K2/4G is a kit of two 256M x 64-bit 2GB (2048MB) DDR2-1066 CL5 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) memory modules, based on sixteen 128M x 8-bit DDR2 FBGA components per module. Total kit capacity is 4GB (4096MB). Each module pair has been tested to run at DDR2- 1066MHz at a latency timing of 5-5-5-15 at 2.2V. The SPD is programmed to JEDEC standard latency 800Mhz timing of 5-5-5-18 at 1.8V. Each 240-pin DIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires +1.8V

Any advice anyone?

Thanks
Paul

You went from running 4GB to 8GB of memory, my guess is you need more northbridge voltage to run all 8GB that fast.
