Hello,

Could someone please tell me if this memory would be appropriate for the listed ASRock z68 motherboard?
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

Newegg has described it as "designed for P67 motherboard"
Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428&Tpk=f3-12800cl9D-8gbxl)

Thanks for the help,
Ron T.

I wouldn't like to say for sure but both boards/cpu's would clock the same way as in using cpu multiplier, only very small bclk adjustment is possible on sandybridge,I can't see why they shouldn't work though

As you know bclk and cpu multipliers affect the memory speed

Thanks for the reply Wazza. Looks like I have a little more reading to do as I'm not familiar with processor internal base clocks and CPU multipliers.

Well if you plan to overclock the cpu then try n buy the fastest ram you can afford,1866 or 2133mhz as you can't fine tune your ram speed because you can only oc the cpu with the cpu multiplier and not the bclk like on previous chips,if your not planning on ocing then 1600mhz ram is fine
