How to set de administrator account default on the welcome/logon screen?

get the winxp power tools

open tweakUI for winxp

go down to logon and tick the box nest to administrator

or if u just wanna log on as admin from the welcome screen, press ctrl-alt-del twice and it'll come up with a standard logon screen so u can type in administrator and log on

The CTRL-ALT-DEL twice trick only works with the Professional version of XP though. On the Home edition, it complains that 'administrator' cannot logon due to policy restrictions. You can only logon as Administrator in safe mode for the Home Edition.

Worse yet, I've yet to find a way to rename the default administrator account in the Home ed. It's a breeze in the Pro version......

And gpedit.msc doesn't exist on the home edition either..... =( lusrmgr.msc has been disabled in the home ed as well.......
