Counter-strike problem

Hi there

I was wondering if anybody knew the solution to this problem... Whenever i try to join a game of CS, it won't connect... The timer freezes and it sits there for minutes before I can escape out of the console. I just installed Windows XP (fresh install... had to reformat).

I dunno but have you reinstalled CS and update the 1.5 patch...and have if you did ...did you get the right patch...like the Retail patch for the Retail version...and so on?

Have you the MOD or RETAIL version of CS?

If MOD, then make sure you have the latest updates for both CS AND HL.

If RETAIL, make sure you have the latest update and any fixes from counter-strike.net

Do you use a firewall prog? That'll stop you dead.

Try connecting to a Half-life DM or TeamFortress game and see if that works.

Yeah especaly if your running the wrong version and know one else can buy guns :snip: , that one Ezelek?
