View Full Version : Memory -- WHY no 16 GB on QVL list

Am considering a new computer build using the P8Z68 Deluxe motherboard and was wanting 16 GB of memory, but the QVL only shows 2 GB DIMMs in each of the 4 slots OR 4 GB DIMMs in each of only 2 slots -- NO qualified memory listing for 4 GB DIMMs in all four slots.

Yet -- Corsair lists one Vengeance DDR3-1600 as qualified for 4 x 4GB

What gives -- Why does Asus not list in their QVL any 16 GB memory using all four DIMM slots while Corsair DOES list one memory type that does use 4 DIMMs of 4 GB each for the total of 16 GB of memory?

I am confused.

Thoughts/opinions ??

Thanks,

Hi MikeSp. The reason that we don't have any 4GB x 4 DIMM kits listed on our QVL is because those 4 DIMM matched kits were not available at the time of our validation of this motherboard. You can always use the memory vendors listed of supported motherboards on their website if a particular kit is not listed in our QVL.

Thank you very much -- simple answer that makes perfect sense!!!
