P2P downloading

I am trying to find a way to have a friend download a file directly from my harddrive, over the internet. It is too large to email and I don't want to have to burn one file and mail it. Is it is possible, to limit access from a specific IP or to a specific partition or physical drive? Would really appreciate any help. This has been bugging me for a while.

I have done something like this before. Set up vitual private networking and get in the same workgroup and you can both be however slow in the same network "virtua private network" I did something like this a few months ago but wasn't to sucessful as it killed my internet whenever I connected to the vpn.
