  • P8P67 LE Win7 64-Bit Restart in Safe Mode?

    Hi:

Tried online search, searched user manual, and searched this forum for an answer to this basic question. When I hit F8 on restart, I'm given 4 boot options, none of which start in Safe Mode. In another forum, someone said to hit <ESC> to leave the boot menu, then hit F8 again to start in Safe Mode. This did not work. I'm running 2 monitors in Extended Display mode. Could this be the problem.

    Thanks,
    Dave

For me F8 is the bios boot override menu, but F5 worked during bootup of win7 to get the start menu - don't know if its the same, but ended up in the boot menu all the time instead of the windows boot manager - worth a try with F5 instead
My advice - never visit a short-url, no matter who gives it to you. You can't trust any source at any time when you don't know your target

Thanks dJabba. That worked. A program I was trying to uninstall cause the uninstaller to freeze. In Safe Mode, it worked no problem. After hitting F5, the Windows boot menu came up. Then you hit F8 for Advanced Options. This brings up the familiar scroll-down menu with restart choices.

I'm surprised I couldn't find this in any Help files, forums, or user manuals.

      Cheers,
      Dave
