  • overclocking on ga-7vrxp m.o.b.

I'm running an xp 1800 chip on a GIGABYTE GA-7VRXP VER 2.O board.Had a version 1.1!!!!!!what a disaster...anyway there is a dip switch on the mob. for setting the multiplier or set it to auto.

My question is that when I set it for anything but auto the computer will not boot.

I'm new so bear with me.

Does this meen that I have to unlock the chip with the crazy glue and laquer solder?

Your problem is that to use these jumpers you must have an unlocked CPU. Just leave it on auto and use the FSB to over clock. I have the 1.1ver of that board and have never had any probs with it and it runs my XP1800+ @ 150MHz FSB for 1730MHz (XP2100+) easily. :thumb:

As for the other reply, I can see how you get your nick. :rolleyes2
