  • Can't update Photoshop 7 to 7.0.1

When I try to update Photoshop 7.0 with the 7.0.1 update I get the error message:
"The Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 update program cannot find Adobe Photoshop 7.0 in C:\Program files\Adobe Photoshop 7.0\. Please attempt to locate Adobe Photoshop 7.0 or cancel the update..."

    I don't understand this - I installed the program into C:\Program Files - it's definitely there!

One of the machines we have at home has Photoshp 7.0 on it . The path is c:\program files\adobe\photoshop 7.0. I think that was the default setup as we already had Adobe Acrobat installed. Could yours be the same, and the extra folder "adobe" in the path is confusing the update?

You need to change your serial number.. - The patch has some blacklisted S/N in it.
Get the KeyGen and change it in the regs

      (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Softwa
      re\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Registration)

      (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTW
      ARE\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Registration)

Also, your keygen will spit out a serial in this format:
      s/n: aaaa-bbbb-cccc-xxxx-yyyy-zzzz

Make sure to remove the '-' from the serial before you enter it into the registry, so it should be in this format:
      s/n: aaaabbbbccccxxxxyyyyzzzz

      Did it for me
