  • Overclocking issues

Im not sure if this is the right place, since for some reason i cant post a thread in the overclocking section, but here it goes.

I have an ASrock 990FX extreme 3 with a FX4100 cpu and a GTX460 evga superoverclocked video card. When i overclock past 4.3 say to 4.5GHZ and try to play a game like Skyrim, the game runs like it is running 60 times faster than normal. The only real change i made was i upped the cpu multiplier from 18x to 20x and upped the cpu voltage to 1.40.

    ASrock 990fx extreme 3 mobo
    FX4100 cpu
Antec earthwatts 650 watt psu green
    EVGA GTX460 superoverclocked video card
GSkill 1866mhz sniper series ram 8GB

    Re: Overclocking issues

I'd email ASRock Tech Support concerning this.

    [email protected]

Give as much detailed system info as possible when you email them.
#1 - Please, when seeking help, enter the make and model of ALL parts that your system is comprised of in your Signature, or at least the model #'s in your System Specs, then "Save' it.
____If you are overclocking, underclocking, or undervolting any parts, informing us of this and their values would prove beneficial in helping you.

#2 - Consider your PSU to be the foundation from which all else is built upon. Anything built upon a weak foundation is poorly built.
