Could anyone pls advise on the following?

I want to speed-up my notebook HP Omnibook XE# with an Intel III 600 mgz processor and 256 mb RAM.

    Thanks,

The problem with laptops is that you cannot really upgrade the cooling options. Usually what it is set at now is about all that you are going to get. The only way to get a better one than that is to buy a new laptop.

That would increase speed due to it the data being better organized. But you cannot really overclock laptops...

Laptops are tricky, they are really engineered to be what you get is what you live with it. Besides getting a new harddrive (which you might not be able to do) and maybe some more ram....there is not much you can do with upgrading the laptop. Contact the manufacturer for more info.

In terms of overclocking...I have no idea. But it seems laptops are engineered to conserve energy. So, you would signficantly kill battery life if you could overclock. And the whole cooling problem!
