Help: Epox 8k3a+ problem

I have an epox 8K3A+ motherboard which supports raid.

now heres my problem. I have my master hdd towards the bottom of the case, and my slave hdd is in a drive caddy up the top. The one ide cable has no way of reaching to join the two together.
What i want to know is can i just get a second ide cable and use one ide cable for the slave, and another for the master?

The RAID controller can be used as a standard IDE controller to which you could add the slave to but as a master. ;)
